Fueling the Sustainable Journey

A journey inherently implies a destination, which also implies some type of movement. Well this engineer turned philosopher immediately thinks that we are going to need some fuel to get to our destination of sustainable adventure travel. And that fuel is YOU, our customers and community.

An Expedia report from April, 2022 says that 90% of travelers look for sustainable options when traveling. This is great news because despite important efforts to reduce the supply of fossil fuels that just eventually become carbon emissions, we need a demand side driver for the incredible amount of change we need to accomplish in the rapidly decreasing amount of time we have. At the risk of a pointless debate on when our planet is going to completely turn on us, I agree with Rebeka Solnit, the days of climate change denial are behind us. We all agree. We have to change.

The main theme developing in the Top Out Adventures sustainable journey providing our customers with the best ways to travel sustainability. This doesn’t in any way abdicate our corporate responsibility to contribute our own resources. It simply means that there is a payback for those investments. As you see our sustainability plan develop, you are going to see ways you can get involved through benefits tied to choices for sustainable travel. Examples of what this look like are discounts for sustainable travel to and from destinations, earning trip credits by participating in wilderness restoration work, credits for telling the sustainable story to others and more ideas we haven’t even dreamed up yet.

Since we are only going to be successful by doing this together as a community, we need to hear from you. Go to this link and tell us what you think are the highest priorities: Sustainable Travel Survey. What are your ideas for sustainable travel? Please let us know at Info@TopOutAdventures.com.
